First Water Vole encounter

I have never tried to photograph or look for water voles, mainly because they haven't interested me. But everyone in the wildlife photography world goes on about them and now I can see why. I saw my first ever water vole yesterday (30th April) and today I decided to try and photograph them. What a day it was. They are Britians fastest declining mammal.

This year I had my first international success in a competition. I got highly commended in the 'wildlife in your garden' category of the international garden photographer of the year. Above is the image in the official book, one of a few images that got a double page spread.

Cairngorms

Red Grouse Cairngorms - Josh Jaggard

A three day trip to the Cairngorms in Scotland. I spent a few days photographing mountain hare and a few with red grouse. I also visited a hide in search of a pine martin but instead got lovely views of some badger.

Today I went out to photograph a Purple Sandpiper, Great Crested Grebe and find a few more potential locations around Norfolk. I didn't find time in the end to photograph the Grebes due to my early morning encounter with a Barn Owl.
